The Frontal lobe - aka the “get ‘er done” lobe of the brain.
The frontal lobe has SO much to do with performance, nearly every major part of your living and your career is governed by your frontal lobe.
Voluntary movement > playing an instrument, jumping, exercising, singing, running after kids or pets, kissing a significant other, bicep curls, etc.
Thinking > making decisions, planning
Behavior Inhibitions > don’t do stupid stuff
Personality > Angry, sad, moody, happy, content, peaceful
Judgements/Rational thinking > “I shouldn’t do stupid stuff”
Attention > little ADHD much?
How do we brain train the frontal lobe?
It’s actually one of the more fun ones to work with - we play games really. Games with choices, games with stopping you from making choices, games with movement.
Even though the games aren’t not necessarily helping you decide whether you should buy another pair of boots, any type of healthy stimulation of the front lobe can, over time, help decisions like boot buying become easier, as the frontal lobe doesn’t really discriminate between a red/green decision versus a buy/not buy decision.
