The Cerebellum - the key to your success as an artist.
The cerebellum is what allows you to kick or catch a flying ball or not fall off a horse!
Accuracy > is your body moving as quickly, to exactly where, and at the right moment that you want it to?
Balance > can you stand upright or move around without dizziness?
Coordination > are your snare rolls exact with each hand, is your gait symmetrical, is your “left hand talking to your right hand”?
You’re not going anywhere quickly or smoothly if your cerebellum isn’t in tip top shape. The cerebellum is how you stay upright, move with balance and dance with coordination, and it also plays a role in posture.
How do we brain train the Cerebellum?
Cerebellum training uses a lot of “anti-cerebellum” movements for stimulation. So to train in balance, we’re going to have you do things on an unbalanced ground! To train in coordination, we’ll use bands, cues, rhythms, and more tricks to over emphasize your body parts either working together or independently. We’ll use over emphasize whether your body is reacting as you want, all in the name of bringing control over your body’s movements.
